Emma's first trip to Disneyland!

Emma's first trip ever to the Happiest Place on Earth!  We had a great time... I've composed a list of DO's and DON'T's for you.  Enjoy.

DON'T:  Keep waking up all night because you're so excited to go to Disneyland... but when 5 am rolls around, hit the snooze button, thus causing everyone to leave at 6 instead of 5:30...
DO: Drive thru Chick-Fil-A and get breakfast.  They have a yummy chicken sandwich on a multi-grain bagel.  I know it sounds weird for breakfast... but it is fantastic.  The Chicken minis are great too.
DON'T:  Forget your frozen gogurts and juice boxes in the freezer.  You'll reget it like I did....  A kid's 'power pack' consisting of yogurt, a juice box, a string cheese and a pack of goldfish is a whopping $5.99.
DO: Use fast pass.  You don't have to go during the window of time listed on your pass... you can go anytime AFTER that.  We get a bunch of fast passes in the morning, and then use them whenever we want throughout the day.  Remember though, you can't get another fast pass until the time passes on the one you have.
DO:  Skip Autopia.  You will just inhale a bunch of fumes.  AND the line takes FOREVER... even with a  fast pass.
DO: See Captian EO... even if your spouse thinks it's dorky.  You know it's totally awesome and it brings you back to your childhood (assuming you were a kid in the 80's like me :)  I am not embarrassed to say that I can recite the script although it's been nearly 20 years since I saw it ;)
DON'T: Sit behind an extremely heavy couple that insists on sitting in different rows on the SAME side of the Small World Boat.  It's kind of distracting when your boat is leaning so bad it's nearly going to capsize.
DO: Go to the Tiki Room.  It's a classic.  And be sure to sing.  Loud.  It feels good.  Just do it.
DO: Go to the Golden Horseshoe and see Billy Hill and the Hillbillies.  It's another Disney Classic and I hope they never ever change it.   Clap along and have fun.  Don't be a stick in the mud.
DO:  Order a Mile High chocolate cake (While at the Golden Horseshoe)  (It's five layers... HUGE) And you won't believe the price... it's only $5.49)
DON'T: get the chimichanga in Frontierland.  It's just not good... I told them we didn't like it, and ... they gave me a refund :)
DO: Bring snacks... lots of trail mix, pretzels, fruit roll ups, juice boxes...  Don't bother bringing water, every snack bar will give you free cups of ice water.
DO: Dance to the live band in Tomorrowland Terrace at night.  It's truly magical.

The Living Desert with Friends

Awwwww the Living Desert.  We have a membership and I need to commit to going more often.  Especially when the weather is fabulous.  Especially with great friends.  It was Emma's first time in the petting zoo... and she loved it.  Although she did get hit pretty hard by a goat's horn.  In her neck.  Ouch.  Gotta love her many expressions.  She was talking to the goats in her own goat/baby language.  I love the picture of Stephanie with her camera.  We all had our cameras and were shooting a bunch of pictures. .
This is cute little Afton.  I just love all her expressions!
I didn't know goats liked to have their pictures taken... but this one was looking up at me and smiling!

Emma and the Egg

Emma just melted my heart when she held these Easter eggs.   I love the yellow and the little speckles on the eggs.  Fun pictures.  How will I ever decided which ones to print and frame?

Easter Egg Hunt!

Emma's first Easter Egg Hunt!  How cute is she??  We had so much fun at the park with all our friends!
Cute little friends enjoying their eggs!

Shooting some images with a friend's Macro lens... uh oh... I think i NEED one of these lenses!
Just the tip of the butterfly antenna on Emma's basket.  How cool is that?!

April Fool's Day Fun!

A grilled cheese sandwich?  Actually it's toasted Angel Food Cake with Orange frosting... tastes pretty good, but it's a surprise for your taste buds!
Make a fake ice cream cone... Just cut a styrofoam ball in half and put it in a cone.
Then put a mixture of paint and glue over the top.  Let dry for a few days.
Fun trick!  Here's another one we did with red paint.
