My mother in law was invited to a Pampered Chef party. She asked me if I wanted anything... uh, the better question would be to ask if there is anything I don't want. Seriously, I love that stuff. So I remember hearing about this cookie press, but I've never really seen one or used one. She got if for me, along with some other cool kitchen stuff (yeah, she's one of those super nice mother-in-laws that you don't run across every day :) So we were making Christmas cookies to go out caroling and I had about had it with cookie cutters when I remembered the cookie press stuffed in the back of the drawer (don't judge, you know you get stuff and then forget about it too...) So we pull it out and go to town! This baby is made for some sweet cookie making fun!!! It was a blast! I think we were just so shocked at how easy and fun it was. I was pretty much jumping up and down.
Cute little snowmen, ready to feel the heat.
Love the trees!
Now I know the frosting isn't 'perfect' but the kids were helping... OK, I can't blame the kids, but I will say that I think I need some help in the decor department... frosting in ziplocs with the corner snipped off is just not doing the job... Thanks to my students, I have a gift card to Kitchen Kitchen where I just can't wait to explore and find some fun gadgets... maybe a pastry bag?
The treat plate... A dear friend, a master of the Christmas treat plate, Lisa, has this down to a science, complete with a schedule. I have already starting planning my treat plate for next year, thanks to her guidance. You can have a wonderful variety, if you plan ahead and freeze the doughs. I can't wait to try it. Next year is going to rock!
