Come on baby!

This is Cary... my new friend and neighbor.  She is cuter than cute don't you think?  She is 5 days overdue... That's right folks... FIVE days!!!  Look how tiny she is!  Look how adorable!  Can't wait to see her new little bundle of joy!  (Her first baby... I just can't stand it I'm so excited for her!)

A Baby Shower... pictures with my new camera!!!

I had a blast at Cary's Baby Shower, snapping tons of photos... I learned so much!  At first I was dealing with how to take some good shots inside WITHOUT the flash.  I love that I had so many faces to photograph and I really feel like I needed to be more aggresive and 'make' more shots happen... live and learn!!  It was neat to try out my zoom lense and take some shots from across the room, trying to get some good candids.     I'm so happy I've gotten the chance to get to know Cary. She always has a smile, and she just makes you feel at ease.

My new best friend.... The Pampered Chef Cookie Press

My mother in law was invited to a Pampered Chef party.  She asked me if I wanted anything... uh, the better question would be to ask if there is anything I don't want.  Seriously, I love that stuff.  So I remember hearing about this cookie press, but I've never really seen one or used one.  She got if for me, along with some other cool kitchen stuff (yeah, she's one of those super nice mother-in-laws that you don't run across every day :)  So we were making Christmas cookies to go out caroling and I had about had it with cookie cutters when I remembered the cookie press stuffed in the back of the drawer (don't judge, you know you get stuff and then forget about it too...)  So we pull it out and go to town!  This baby is made for some sweet cookie making fun!!!  It was a blast!  I think we were just so shocked at how easy and fun it was.  I was pretty much jumping up and down.

Cute little snowmen, ready to feel the heat.

Love the trees!

Now I know the frosting isn't 'perfect' but the kids were helping... OK, I can't blame the kids, but I will say that I think I need some help in the decor department...  frosting in ziplocs with the corner snipped off is just not doing the job...  Thanks to my students, I have a gift card to Kitchen Kitchen where I just can't wait to explore and find some fun gadgets... maybe a pastry bag?

The treat plate...   A dear friend, a master of the Christmas treat plate, Lisa, has this down to a science, complete with a schedule.  I have already starting planning my treat plate for next year, thanks to her guidance.     You can have a wonderful variety, if you plan ahead and freeze the doughs.  I can't wait to try it.  Next year is going to rock!
